SyFy’s new series will give you a taste of ‘Haven’

July 9, 2010

There’s less than a 1/2 hour until the premiere of SyFy’s new show Haven airs on the East Coast/Central timezone. Haven is the televised adaption of one of Stephen King’s novellas, The Colorado Kid which inaddition to being the only work of King’s I’ve read is also one of his less creepy works. The only supernatural element of The Colorado Kid lies in the fact that there really is no solution to the crime that is presented. No murderer is caught, no motive reveled, not even a suspect!

So why watch?

Because that’s only the begining of the show. There are so differences between the two works that should be pointed out. Haven’s main character is an FBI agent rather than a budding reporter but it looks like our heroine will still be the same personality wise. Haven will also feature a more ‘mystery of the week vibe’ while The Colorado Kid featured only one mystery. The show promises to be mythical in overtunes and be very grounded in the characters and how they deal with the cases getting personal.

I promise to let you know my thoughts some time soon, until then happy tv watching!

Haven stars- Emily Rose, Eric Balfour and Lucas Bryant.

IMDB.com lists this as the show’s official description;
A shrewd FBI agent with a lost past who arrives in the small town of Haven, Maine, to solve the murder of a local ex-con only to discover that the curious enclave is a longtime refuge for people with supernatural powers that holds a lot of secrets, including to her own past. — IMDb Plot: Haven
