Eliza & Summer: Guest Staring on You Geek Show of Choice

It’s a happy week in the Whedonverse as not one but TWO Whedonverse chicks have guest spots on some of our favorite ‘Extended ‘Verse’ shows. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about don’t worry, not many outside the ‘verse speak the lingo.) Details below.

News broke yesterday that Eliza Dushku (BtVS, Tru Calling, Dollhouse, Bring it On) would be appearing in The Big Bang Theory’s 7th episode of it’s current season (4). Seeing as it’s first episode of the season only aired yesterday it’ll be another 5 weeks or so before we get clips or photos of her guest spot. We do know that she’ll be playing the FBI agent in charge of digging into Howard Wolowitz’s (Simon Halberg: Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) life when he requests higher security clearance. First off Eliza’s got that part in the bag, tough chick is like her middle name. 2nd Eliza isn’t the first Whedonverse chick to guest star on the show. Summer Glau was on the show 2 seasons ago as herself and the results were hilarious.

Speaking of Summer Glau (Firefly, T:SCC, Dollhouse, The Cape) she also has a nerdy guest spot lined up. She’ll be one of the ‘Gretas’ on Chuck aka one of the hot spies working undercover at the Buy-More. Not much else has been released on her guest spot, announced earlier today but we do know that she’ll be in the 8th episode of the show’s current season (4). She’s not the only Terminator alumni to wind up on Chuck this season. As I announced earlier this summer Linda Hamilton the original Sarah Connor has a reaccuring guest spot on the show as Chuck’s mother. While the two actresses have never worked together it’s funny that they would both end up on the same show. While I doubt they’ll have any scenes together you never know. Chuck is one of those shows that just knows what we want, when we want it.

So what say my fellow nerds? Which are we more excited for? Eliza on TBBT or Summer on Chuck?
